Miami-based trilingual rock band SHUSH is turning up the volume with “So So,” a high-energy Spanish-language alternative rock track that introduces listeners to the band’s distinctive blend of Latin American identity, hard rock intensity and modern alternative sounds.
Driven by explosive guitars, a relentless rhythm section and passionate vocals, “So So” wastes little time making its presence felt. The track carries the raw force of hard rock while maintaining the melodic edge and immediacy of alternative rock, giving SHUSH a sound that feels both familiar and distinctly their own.
The song also reflects the band’s multilingual identity. Rooted in their Latin American background and shaped by their Miami surroundings, SHUSH approaches rock without treating language as a limitation. “So So” places Spanish at the centre while the group’s broader identity stretches across Spanish, English and everything that comes with living between cultures.

The personalities behind the band are just as colourful. Jochi’s songwriting draws heavily from heartbreak and emotional experiences, while Tanis Perez brings distortion into the band’s ballads. Zach contributes the guitar parts that do not always make the final record despite being the bassist, while Ander is credited with drinking enough at a bar to help start the band in the first place.
That irreverent spirit is reflected in the band’s name. SHUSH describes the word less as a traditional term and more as a sound and an emotion, representing a moment when everything else needs to quiet down so the music can take over.
“So So” serves as an introduction to SHUSH’s upcoming debut album, which arrives on September 17. The release sets the tone for a project that promises to explore the band’s multilingual identity while moving freely between different emotional and musical extremes.
For SHUSH, the goal is not to make rock music fit neatly into a particular box. The band is building something shaped by Miami, Latin American roots, alternative rock, personal chaos and a healthy dose of humour.
