Ghanaian hip-hop heavyweight Sarkodie delivered a high-energy spectacle at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 24, 2026, as he headlined Rapperholic ’26. The concert marked the second consecutive year the flagship Rapperholic brand has been staged in the Ashanti regional capital and drew an estimated 55,000 fans in a celebration of music, culture, and local pride.

The show ran deep into the early hours of Sunday, wrapping around 6:30 a.m. Fans travelled from across Ghana to pack the stadium, underscoring Kumasi’s growing status as a major entertainment destination and Sarkodie’s strong connection with audiences in the Ashanti Region.

Ahead of the event, Sarkodie expressed gratitude to supporters, declaring “Kumasi, this is your own” and noting the expanded scale: “Kumasi showed Sarkodie love, and this year we have gone way bigger.” The production built on the success of the 2025 edition, titled Rapperholic: The Homecoming, which itself drew large crowds even through rainfall.

The night featured a diverse lineup of Ghanaian artists, including Dope Nation, Mr Drew, Lasmid, Oseikrom Sikani, Arathejay, Sista Afia, Kojoblak, AlorG, and others. A major highlight came when award-winning singer King Promise joined Sarkodie on stage for an energetic collaboration that electrified the crowd.

Cultural and emotional moments stood out. Sarkodie’s entrance blended hip-hop with traditional Ghanaian elements, featuring a projection of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, alongside traditional music. He also paid tribute to the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosu), performing some of his songs in a heartfelt segment that celebrated the musician’s enduring influence. Additional homage was paid to gospel artist Bernice Offei.

At the close, Sarkodie knelt on stage to thank Kumasi and his fans for their overwhelming support. Media personality Nana Ama McBrown later praised the massive turnout, security arrangements, and atmosphere, remarking that “Sarkodie knows who he is” and highlighting the strong show of love from the Ashanti Region.

Rapperholic, launched in December 2012 and named after Sarkodie’s breakthrough album, has grown into one of Ghana’s most recognisable concert brands. The decision to make Kumasi an annual stop—alongside Accra and international dates—reflects both the city’s drawing power and the artist’s ambition. In post-event comments, Sarkodie has spoken of dreams to expand the brand further, potentially into multi-day festival activations in the city.

The 2026 Kumasi edition reinforced Rapperholic’s role not only as a major live music event but also as a boost for local tourism, hospitality, and Ghana’s creative economy, with hotels and businesses in the area reporting strong demand over the weekend.

Sarkodie continues to set the standard for large-scale Ghanaian concerts, and the success of this latest edition suggests the brand’s regional tradition is only getting stronger.
