Haitian-American singer and songwriter ZAMA returns with her new single “Répondeur,” a vibrant konpa-fusion track that blends the iconic sounds of Haitian and Afro-Caribbean music with R&B and pop influences.
Centered on the aftermath of a breakup, “Répondeur” transforms heartbreak into a celebration of self-worth, independence and moving forward. Sung across French, English and Haitian Creole, the track reflects ZAMA’s identity as a Haitian-American and multilingual artist who continues to bridge cultures through music.
The release follows a year of consistent momentum for ZAMA, including “Game Over,” which showcased her affinity for konpa, and “U&I,” her collaboration with Haitian Afrohouse producer Francis Mercier.
On “Répondeur,” soulful vocals, layered harmonies and confident lyrics meet a rhythmic konpa groove, R&B textures and pop elements. The production is highlighted by a memorable konpa synth solo and an infectious chorus built around the phrase “parle à mon répondeur,” meaning “talk to my voicemail.”
Rather than dwelling on heartbreak, the song approaches the end of a relationship with a sense of freedom and lighthearted confidence, creating a track designed to work both as a personal anthem and a dance-floor sing-along.
“Répondeur is inspired by the sounds that have shaped me as a Haitian-American artist,” said ZAMA. “My music brings together my worlds, and this song in particular is a fusion of Konpa and R&B. This is one of my favorite songs I’ve written, and I think it finds a home especially with konpa lovers and music lovers who appreciate multicultural, multilingual music.”
ZAMA describes the release as part of a new chapter in her artistry as she continues to establish and refine her signature sound.

“Répondeur” will also be featured on ZAMA’s upcoming EP, scheduled for release in 2027.
