Nottingham artist SKEETE steps into a more intimate space with his new 10-track project ‘VIRGO’, accompanied by the official music video for its title track.
Released during Virgo season, the project sees SKEETE bring together the soulful qualities of R&B and Neo Soul with the infectious rhythms of Dancehall and Afrobeats, creating a sound that reflects both his versatility and the direction he has continued to develop throughout his career.
At the centre of VIRGO is a conversation about intimacy, desire and heartbreak. Across the 10 tracks, SKEETE moves between sensual records that explore attraction and more emotionally exposed moments that deal with the complicated side of relationships.
That contrast gives the project much of its character. Now, four years into his career, SKEETE is using VIRGO to show another side of his artistry. The project does not move away from the sound that listeners have connected with, but expands it through more personal subject matter and a stronger focus on the emotional dynamics of relationships.
