Ghanaian singer Asiama has added another milestone to his growing music career after earning a nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2026 Taabea Ghana Music Awards UK.
The nomination marks Asiama’s first international recognition and comes during a significant period for the Kumasi-born artiste. The tenth edition of the awards is scheduled for October 31, 2026, at The Royal Regency in London, bringing another moment of recognition to an artist whose sound continues to connect contemporary influences with his Ghanaian roots.
Born Emmanuel Asiamah Mensah in Kumasi, Asiama has been developing a distinct musical identity around alternative R&B, soul and pop, while keeping Highlife and his Ghanaian heritage at the centre of his artistry. His warm, textured voice and expressive delivery have become defining elements of his music, allowing him to approach intimate stories with sensitivity and confidence.
His international nomination follows a notable run at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, where Asiama received two nominations, including Record of the Year, and ultimately won Best Male Vocal Performance. The latest recognition now places his vocal ability in another awards conversation, this time on an international platform.

Produced by legendary Ghanaian musician Kwame Yeboah, whose work includes serving as Musical Director for Yusuf / Cat Stevens, Kojo Antwi and Craig David, “No Place” combines live instrumentation with Asiama’s vocals in Twi and English.
