Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Shea Taylor officially steps into the spotlight as a solo recording artist with “Love Samba,” a sultry new smooth jazz single that blends sophisticated jazz melodies with infectious samba rhythms.
Released via ROC Nation Distribution, “Love Samba” marks the beginning of what Taylor describes as a new chapter in his musical journey, the Shea Taylor Jazz Era.
Best known for his work behind the scenes, Taylor has spent decades writing and producing music for some of the biggest names in contemporary music, including Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Solange, Rihanna, LL Cool J, Ne-Yo, Frank Ocean and Ariana Grande.
His songwriting and production credits include Beyoncé’s “Countdown,” “Love On Top” and “End of Time,” among other contributions to the multi-platinum album 4.
Now, Taylor turns his attention inward with “Love Samba,” creating a record that places his own musicianship, composition and artistic vision at the centre.
The track is a sophisticated celebration of love driven by smooth jazz grooves, samba-inspired rhythms and expressive saxophone performances. Taylor wrote and produced the song and played all of the instruments himself, showcasing his versatility as a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.
“Love Samba” was mixed by Jim Caruana and mastered by Kevin Peterson, Mastering Engineer and Assistant to Dave Kutch.
The release has already received positive feedback from music curators and tastemakers through Groover, with praise focusing on Taylor’s musicianship, production quality and distinctive fusion of contemporary and classic jazz influences.
