French electronic music group PROKSIMA has dropped their latest single, “Boom boom d’un souvenir,” a deeply atmospheric track that explores the physical nature of memory and the emotions that remain embedded in the body.
Taken from their five-track EP Le corps reconnaît, the song delves into the idea that certain memories can live beyond conscious thought, resurfacing through sensations, rhythms and emotions.
With its minimalist electronic production, intimate vocals and restrained pulsations, “Boom boom d’un souvenir” creates a cinematic and immersive atmosphere. The track feels almost heartbeat-like, capturing the tension between remembering and letting go.
The single forms part of PROKSIMA’s wider artistic exploration of the relationship between music, the body, movement and memory. Rather than relying on an immediate, conventional pop structure, the group creates space for listeners to become immersed in the sound and connect with its emotional layers.
Le corps reconnaît features five tracks, each representing a different stage of an intimate inner journey. Alongside “Boom boom d’un souvenir,” the EP includes “Anna ne vient pas,” “La frontière du ciel” featuring Octave Noire, “Dansons encore,” and “Dans la lumière.”
The release continues PROKSIMA’s distinctive electronic sound, developed since the group’s debut album Léthé in 2011. Their work brings together electronic music, poetry, visual art and dance, with their music videos extending the emotional world of their songs through movement and imagery.
At the heart of Le corps reconnaît is the idea that the body can remember what the mind tries to forget a concept that is particularly present in “Boom boom d’un souvenir.”
