Italian musician and multi-instrumentalist Matteo Cavazzi is stepping into a new chapter of his musical career with the release of “Terrace,” his first instrumental track, released in June 2026.
Born in 1983 and based in Castell’Arquato, in Italy’s province of Piacenza, Cavazzi’s relationship with music began at the age of 12 when he started playing drums under the guidance of Franco Rossi and Marco Orsi. By 13, he was already performing across Northern Italy with several cover bands, including 7 in Condotta, Porta Galera and Jovanotte.
At 20, Cavazzi joined the Etnorchestra project, performing on three Italian tours and appearing at the Popkomm festival in Berlin. During this period, he also collaborated with notable artists including Nina Zilli, Ambra Maffy Lo Faro, known for her work with Disney, and English singer Desi Valentine, with whom he took part in a short tour in London.
After stepping away from performing at the age of 28 to focus on his passion for collecting vinyl records, Cavazzi eventually returned to music with a renewed creative vision. In recent years, he expanded his musical knowledge by studying piano with Stefano Vaccari, as well as soprano saxophone and musical harmony with Gianni Azzali.
In 2026, Cavazzi began producing his own instrumental compositions, taking on drums, percussion, piano and synthesizer. His developing project has also attracted contributions from instrumentalists including Kelly O’Donohue, Samantha Bounkeua, Laura Corazzina and Aubrey Situmorang.
“Terrace” introduces listeners to Cavazzi’s new instrumental direction, bringing together his experience as a drummer, multi-instrumentalist and lifelong music enthusiast.
The release represents the beginning of a fresh creative phase, with more instrumental tracks expected soon.
Cavazzi is currently working toward the release of an upcoming album, promising to further explore his evolving sound and showcase the depth of his musical influences and experience.
