Ghanaian Afrobeats and Highlife star King Promise has released “Melody,” his first solo single of 2026. The new track arrives after a year of high-profile collaborations and follows the success of his joint project with Nigerian artist Mr Eazi.
Produced by Gideonite, “Melody” finds King Promise in familiar territory, delivering a smooth and romantic record centred on a woman’s beauty, charm and sensuality. The song celebrates the feeling of being captivated by someone special, with the singer’s signature vocal style giving the track its warm and intimate character.
Rather than moving away from the love-themed music that has become an important part of his catalogue, King Promise uses “Melody” to reconnect with the sound that has earned him a loyal audience. Its focus on attraction and admiration gives the release a straightforward romantic appeal, allowing his vocals to remain at the centre of the experience.
The single marks another step in a busy period for the artist, born Gregory Bortey Newman, who continues to strengthen his position as one of Ghana’s leading contemporary music voices. His ability to blend Afrobeats, Highlife and R&B has helped establish a sound that resonates with listeners both at home and internationally.
Earlier in 2026, King Promise joined forces with Mr Eazi on “See What We’ve Done,” a collaborative release that went on to reach number one on the Ghanaian album charts. The project added to his recent run of activity, while songs such as “That Way” and “Mariana” have continued to receive considerable airplay across Ghana.
With “Melody,” the singer returns to a solo release while maintaining the momentum generated by his recent collaborations. The track offers listeners a fresh entry into his catalogue and puts the spotlight back on his ability to deliver accessible, melody-driven love songs.
The release also sets the stage for Promiseland 2026, with further details expected to be announced shortly. The upcoming event will provide another point of focus for King Promise and his growing relationship with fans, although its full plans are yet to be revealed.
Outside music, King Promise is also the founder of Rent Paid, a movement that encourages people to invest in their physical well-being through exercise, community and culture. The initiative also supports charitable causes, with proceeds going towards the Nungua Orphanage in his hometown.
“Melody” is now available on major streaming platforms, giving fans a new solo release from King Promise as he moves into the next phase of his 2026 campaign.
