Ghanaian music veteran Trigmatic and Ugandan star Azawi have joined forces for a new pan-African single, ‘Pretty Bad,’ bringing together two distinctive voices from West and East Africa.
Released today and available on all major streaming platforms, ‘Pretty Bad’ marks a cross-border collaboration between Ghana and Uganda that places the two artists at the centre of a shared African musical conversation.

Rather than simply presenting an international feature, the collaboration brings Trigmatic and Azawi together as two established artists meeting creatively across geographical and cultural lines. For Trigmatic, the release adds another chapter to a career spanning more than two decades. The Ghanaian artist has built a reputation around lyricism, cultural expression and a musical catalogue that reflects different stages of contemporary Ghanaian music.
With five Ghana Music Award wins to his name, Trigmatic has remained connected to Ghana’s music scene while continuing to explore new creative directions. On ‘Pretty Bad,’ that experience meets Azawi’s contemporary East African sound.
Azawi, meanwhile, has become one of Uganda’s most recognisable musical voices, developing a sound shaped by the country’s rhythmic and melodic traditions while connecting with audiences beyond Uganda. Her approach brings a distinct East African identity to the collaboration, complementing Trigmatic’s Ghanaian perspective and creating a meeting point between two different musical backgrounds.
