California desert duo LANDROID invite listeners deeper into their cinematic universe with their latest single “Hank the Dragon,” offering a glimpse into the expansive mythology and atmospheric storytelling that define their upcoming album Constellation.
Formed by veteran musicians Cooper Gillespie (vocals, guitar, bass) and Greg Gordon (drums, sequences), LANDROID creates music shaped by their surroundings in the remote desert town of Landers, California. After years immersed in Los Angeles’ punk and rock scenes, the pair relocated to the Mojave Desert, where they developed a sound that reflects the vast landscapes around them: spacious, mysterious, and otherworldly.
With “Hank the Dragon,” LANDROID continues to build their distinctive blend of cinematic rock, atmospheric textures, and immersive storytelling. The track serves as another chapter in the duo’s evolving creative world, capturing the feeling of ancient landscapes, imagined histories, and stories that stretch beyond time.
The single arrives ahead of LANDROID’s forthcoming album Constellation, set for release in 2026. A mythic exploration of inheritance, imbalance, and the way stories echo across generations, the album expands the band’s sonic universe while introducing new dimensions through songwriting and vocal contributions from Joshua Tree-based artist Nigel Roman. His involvement brings a compelling male-female vocal interplay that deepens the emotional and narrative scope of the project.
LANDROID first introduced their desert-inspired sound with their debut album Imperial Dunes, released in 2019 through their independent label Mojave Beach Records. The project established the duo’s signature approach, combining lush arrangements, experimental elements, and a sense of cinematic scale.
Beyond their work as musicians, Gillespie and Gordon are also dedicated contributors to the California desert arts community as co-founders of Mojave Gold, a Joshua Tree-based music venue and cultural hub recognized for supporting emerging artists and live music experiences.
With “Hank the Dragon,” LANDROID continues to transform the spirit of the desert into sound, creating music that feels expansive, timeless, and rooted in the strange beauty of the landscape they now call home.
