Ghanaian alternative R&B singer and songwriter Tower has earned a nomination for the Rising Star Award at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), marking a significant early milestone in what is shaping up to be a promising career.
The Ghanaian talent is among eight artists shortlisted for this year’s Rising Star category, representing a diverse mix of emerging voices from across Africa and the diaspora. Tower’s nomination places Ghana alongside Angola, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire and South Africa in a category celebrating some of the continent’s most exciting new artists.
The nomination comes ahead of the AFRIMMA Musicfest, scheduled for September 12, 2026, at Annette Strauss Square, AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, Texas.
Tower is competing alongside Florito (Angola), Shoday (Nigeria), Rebo Tchulo (DR Congo), 2wentysixx (Kenya), Ameka Zrai (Côte d’Ivoire), No 11 (Nigeria), and Ciza (South Africa). The breadth of the shortlist highlights AFRIMMA’s focus on discovering emerging talent from different corners of the African music landscape.
What makes Tower’s nomination particularly notable is how early it has arrived in her recording journey. She officially began releasing music in February 2026 with “Green,” an introspective introduction that established the reflective quality of her artistry.

She followed with “Wildflower,” a more emotionally open release that gave listeners another glimpse into her songwriting and her ability to explore vulnerability through music. Across the two singles, Tower has begun carving out a space within alternative R&B, developing a sound defined by intimacy, emotion and an unhurried vocal presence.
Tower is signed to KhuJenga Management, the Ghanaian talent management outfit supporting her early career. Her AFRIMMA recognition represents an important achievement for both the artist and her team, particularly coming only months after the beginning of her professional recording journey.
The nomination also adds another Ghanaian presence to AFRIMMA’s celebration of Africa’s next generation of talent, with this year’s Rising Star category bringing together artists from multiple regions of the continent.
Public voting for the Rising Star Award and other AFRIMMA categories is currently open, giving fans an opportunity to support their favourite nominees ahead of the awards weekend in Dallas.
With only a handful of releases behind her, Tower’s AFRIMMA nomination offers an early indication that her alternative R&B sound is beginning to attract attention beyond Ghana, positioning her among the emerging African artists to watch in 2026.
