Medikal featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM took home the Best Collaboration of the Year award for their hit track “Shoulder” at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) on Saturday night.

The collaboration stood out among a competitive field of nominees that highlighted some of Ghana’s biggest crossover hits of the past year. Other nominees in the Collaboration of the Year category included:

  • Kojo Blak ft. Kelvyn Boy – Excellent
  • KiDi ft. Olivetheboy & Kojo Blak – Gymnastic
  • Wendy Shay ft. Olivetheboy – Crazy Love
  • Sarkodie ft. Kweku Smoke – Violence
  • Kwabena Kwabena ft. Stonebwoy & Kofi Kinaata – Aso II (also referred to as Asor Remix)

This victory marks another strong showing for Medikal at the awards, where he earned multiple nominations, including in categories such as Best Hiplife Song.

“Shoulder” gained massive popularity in 2025, dominating charts and streaming platforms with its energetic hiplife-hiphop fusion, catchy hooks, and high-energy vibe that resonated widely across Ghana and beyond. The win underscores the track’s impact as a standout collaboration that brought together established stars and rising talent.

The 27th TGMA, organized by Charterhouse under the auspices of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), continues to celebrate excellence in Ghanaian music across various genres. The event honors artists who have significantly contributed to the industry through creativity, cultural impact, and popularity.
