Florida rock outfit Kickstand Jenny returns with their explosive new single “Lose Together,” a high-energy release that brings together two very different musical worlds to create something familiar, unexpected and distinctly their own.
Built around the contrasting influences of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and The Beatles’ “Come Together,” the track turns two iconic pieces of music into the foundation for a modern rock statement. Rather than simply leaning into nostalgia, Kickstand Jenny use those references as a launchpad, reshaping their energy through the band’s own guitar-driven sound.
“Lose Together” comes alive with gritty guitars that echo the swagger of classic rock before shifting into a rhythmic intensity that recalls the urgency of hip-hop. Based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Kickstand Jenny was founded by guitarist Preston Morelock, whose musical vision has helped shape the band’s genre-spanning sound. Their influences stretch from Van Halen and Mötley Crüe to Prince, with the group combining classic rock instincts with grunge, punk, country and contemporary alternative elements.
Morelock’s journey began with a fascination for guitar, with Van Halen’s “Eruption” serving as an early inspiration. He is joined by bassist Chris McComas, also a self-taught musician, and vocalist Scott Foster Harris, the former frontman of L.A. Guns, whose gritty and soulful delivery has become a defining part of the band’s sound.
Their previous album, “Between The Lies,” established Kickstand Jenny as a band comfortable with ambition. Produced by legendary songwriter and producer Chas Sandford and recorded in Nashville, the ten-track concept album explored the death and rebirth of a soul while drawing a parallel with the collapse and revival of live music during the pandemic.
The project featured collaborations with rock names including Mark Slaughter of Slaughter and Jim Riley of Rascal Flatts, while its standout track “Solo,” featuring Slaughter, gained attention through radio and Sirius/XM.
Since signing with Spectra Music Group in 2022, Kickstand Jenny have continued to build their reputation on the live circuit, sharing stages with artists including Slaughter, Living Colour, Sebastian Bach, L.A. Guns and LIT.
Now, rather than immediately following their album with another full-length project, the band is entering a new phase built around a steady run of singles planned across the next two years. “Lose Together” represents an early statement of intent, showing a group willing to stretch its sound without losing the power and emotion at the centre of its music.
