French-Ghanaian trio EYAA introduce their sound with “Luku Luku,” a dancefloor-ready Afro-electro track that explores the compulsive habit of scrolling through news feeds and consuming viral content without stopping to consider what lies beneath the surface.

Sung in Twi, Pidgin and English, the single transforms a familiar digital gesture into a hypnotic musical hook. The repeated chant, “Stukuluku luku luku,” captures the rhythm of a thumb scrolling down a screen in search of the next headline, image or viral moment in an endless stream of information.

Written by Kyekyeku, the lyrics move between the spectacle of a street scene captured on a phone and the deeper political and historical realities that viral content can obscure. Beneath the surface lies a story of colonial exploitation, demands for gratitude and the absurdities of power. Rather than delivering its message through solemn protest, EYAA take a different approach, pairing sharp social commentary with an infectious, driving and sarcastic club beat.

The result is a deliberate contrast: music that invites listeners to dance even as it challenges them to think about what they consume. Just as a scroll can carry tragedy past our eyes without a second thought, “Luku Luku” leaves listeners with a choice: pause and look closer, or move on to the next track.

Musically, the single reflects EYAA’s distinctive blend of traditional highlife rhythms, Afrobeat influences and contemporary electronic production. The trio brings together Kyekyeku’s expressive vocals, Fred Faure’s drums, and Kevin Bucquet’s bass, synthesizers and machines.

Traditional rhythmic foundations are reimagined through the punch of the 808, creating a sound that balances organic instrumentation with electronic textures and is equally suited to attentive listening and live performance.

“Luku Luku” marks the beginning of a five-single release series leading up to EYAA’s debut EP. Further releases and live dates are expected in 2027.
