Zimbabwe-born, Australia-based artist Craig Isto is out with his new Afrobeats single, “Amantombazana,” as he continues to explore a sound that refuses to be limited by one genre.

Craig Isto was born in Zimbabwe before moving to Australia in 2013. His journey between two different environments has helped shape an artistic identity that embraces versatility, with Afrobeats and Hip Hop serving as the main foundations of his music.

Rather than placing himself inside a strict genre category, Craig describes his music as “SUI GENERIS,” reflecting his belief that there should be no fixed limits to the kind of music he can create.

That approach is central to his creative process. While Afrobeats and Hip Hop remain his primary areas of focus, Craig is interested in experimenting with different sounds and bringing various musical elements together. His goal is not simply to fit into an established category, but to use different influences to develop a style that feels natural to him.

“Amantombazana” arrives as part of that ongoing exploration, giving Craig another opportunity to showcase his connection to Afrobeats while continuing to develop his wider musical identity.

His background in dance also plays an important role in how he approaches music. With a natural understanding of rhythm and movement, Craig brings a performance-driven perspective to his music, allowing the beat to remain an important part of his creative expression.

The combination of his Zimbabwean roots, Australian experience, dance background, and interest in multiple genres gives Craig Isto a distinctive foundation as he continues building his career.

As he describes his music as “SUI GENERIS,” Craig is making it clear that versatility is not simply an occasional experiment but a central part of his identity as an artist. Afrobeats and Hip Hop may be at the heart of his current direction, but he remains open to exploring wherever his creativity takes him.

With “Amantombazana” now available, Craig Isto continues to establish his own musical lane, bringing together rhythm, movement, and a genre-fluid approach that allows him to keep pushing beyond conventional boundaries.
