Ghanaian gospel artiste, worship leader and songwriter Levite Shabach is turning his latest release into a call for spiritual awakening with ‘Maranatha’, a contemporary gospel worship ballad centred on divine encounters, revival and the return of Jesus Christ.
Recorded live during his annual Just Worship concert at Calvary Baptist Church, Awoshie, the song captures the atmosphere of a worship gathering rather than simply presenting a polished studio performance. Produced by award-winning hitmaker Shadrach Yawson, popularly known as Shaa, ‘Maranatha’ carries the rawness and emotion of a live worship experience.
The title itself comes from the traditional expression Maranatha, understood as a cry for the Lord to come. For Levite Shabach, however, the meaning stretches beyond waiting for Christ’s return. The song also becomes a prayer for Jesus to make His presence known in the lives of believers right now.
