Ghanaian Afro-Soul and R&B artist Darkua teams up with Nigerian star and Chocolate City signee TAR1Q on ‘Know You’, a soulful new record that explores vulnerability, commitment and the difficult decision to give love another chance.

Produced by Ghanaian producer Insvne Auggie, the song settles into a laid-back, mid-tempo groove that gives both artists enough space to let their vocals lead the record. The production keeps things warm and unhurried, creating an intimate setting for Darkua and TAR1Q to explore the emotional weight behind the song.

Darkua takes the opening, approaching the relationship with a sense of determination. She makes it clear that she is willing to open her heart again, but that decision comes with expectations. Having chosen to give love another opportunity, she wants to know whether the person on the other side will truly be there for her.

That vulnerability becomes even more personal when Darkua switches into her native Ga, asking who will genuinely show up for her. The moment adds another layer to the song, turning what could have been a simple love record into a more honest conversation about trust, reassurance and emotional security.

TAR1Q enters the story from the other side, responding to Darkua’s openness with the confidence and sincerity the moment requires. Their contrasting perspectives create the song’s central dynamic, with one artist asking for reassurance and the other answering that call.

At its core, ‘Know You’ is about commitment. Giving someone another chance can be an act of love, but it also comes with the responsibility of not taking that opportunity for granted. Darkua captures that tension throughout the song, balancing hope with the understandable fear of being disappointed again.

The chemistry between the two artists gives the record its emotional character. Darkua brings a vulnerable and expressive presence, while TAR1Q adds another perspective to the conversation, allowing the song to feel like an exchange rather than a one-sided confession.

‘Know You’ also carries a story of collaboration beyond the music itself. The single was created during the CNM x Rainlabs Songwriting Camp held in March 2026, an initiative focused on connecting creative communities across anglophone and francophone West Africa.

The camp provided a deliberate environment for artists to meet, exchange ideas and create together, ultimately bringing Darkua and TAR1Q into the same recording session. According to Darkua, she had wanted to work with TAR1Q for some time, making the songwriting camp the opportunity that finally brought the collaboration to life.

The pair recorded ‘Know You’ on the final day of the camp, with Darkua describing the session as one of the best they had during the initiative. That sense of natural creative connection comes through in the finished record, where neither artist overwhelms the other.

With its warm production, emotional storytelling and conversational chemistry, ‘Know You’ gives Darkua and TAR1Q a strong meeting point between Ghanaian Afro-Soul, R&B and contemporary Nigerian sound.

Ultimately, the song asks a simple but meaningful question: when someone gives you another chance at love, what will you do with it? Darkua and TAR1Q leave that question at the centre of the record, making ‘Know You’ a soulful reflection on trust, vulnerability and the hope that love can still keep its promises.
