International reggae-dancehall superstar, Stonebwoy, has released his much-anticipated single, ‘’Jejereje”—a Ghanaian phrase meaning ‘’Own Cup of Tea”—now available for streaming and download.
The track, recorded and produced in Amsterdam by Grammy award-winning producer Ginton, captures the sonic coastal sounds and rich Ghanaian cultural influences. With its rhythmic beats and vibrant melodies, ‘’Jejereje” follows the tale of ‘’Kofi Ba Bone” (Kofi, the stubborn child), a mischievous boy who constantly finds himself in trouble. The song’s narrative and energy evoke both traditional Ghanaian storytelling and modern soundscapes.
The accompanying music video, directed by renowned Ghanaian filmmaker Banini, showcases a vibrant, fun-filled party atmosphere set in the iconic Jamestown neighborhood of Accra. The video features lively dance scenes, community interactions, and visually stunning depictions of Ghanaian culture.
‘’Jejereje” heralds Stonebwoy’s highly anticipated sixth studio album, due for release next month. This follows his recent collaboration on ‘’Pray For Me” with Haitian rapper and record producer Wyclef Jean, as well as other commercially successful releases like ‘’Your Body”, ‘’Ekelebe” featuring Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, and international collaborations with pop sensation Jordin Sparks and Derrick Sounds.
