Fast-rising Nigerian recording and performing artist Princess Dredi steps into the spotlight with her latest Afrobeats single “JO,” delivering a vibrant fusion of rhythm, melody, and the genre-blending style that continues to shape her artistic identity.
Born Chimeze Favour Chinonso, Princess Dredi developed her passion for music from an early age, joining her church choir while growing up and gaining her first exposure to vocal performance and musical foundations. That early connection with music has since evolved into a unique sound that blends elements of Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggae.
Now based in Lagos, Nigeria, the 21-year-old artist uses “JO” to showcase her ability to create music that balances smooth melodies with energetic Afro-inspired rhythms. The track reflects her versatile approach to songwriting, combining contemporary African sounds with her own expressive style.
Describing her sound, Princess Dredi says, “My genre as a whole is subtle and extreme,” highlighting the contrast that defines her artistry: moments of softness and emotion alongside bold, confident musical expression.
With her Afro-fusion approach and commitment to pushing creative boundaries, Princess Dredi represents a new generation of Nigerian artists bringing fresh perspectives to the global Afrobeats movement.
Through “JO,” she continues to introduce listeners to her world, building a sound rooted in culture, individuality, and the limitless possibilities of African music.
