Poland-based Kenyan singer and songwriter Becky Sangolo is back with her latest single, “Return to Sender,” a soulful and bittersweet release that explores love, loss, self-worth, and the quiet freedom that comes with letting go.
Following the Swahili charm of her previous single “Pata Potea,” Becky takes listeners into a more vulnerable space with “Return to Sender.” The song captures the complicated emotions that come with looking back at a relationship that had genuine potential but ultimately never found the right moment to flourish.
Co-written by Becky Sangolo alongside celebrated Kenyan guitarist and producer Polycarp Otieno, popularly known as Fancy Fingers, and Polish collaborator Peter Szczepanik, the track feels deeply personal while remaining relatable. It tells the story of two people who almost had it all, only for timing, pride, or fear to get in the way.
Musically, “Return to Sender” leans into a smooth Kompa-inspired sound, with warm guitar riffs and flowing melodies creating the perfect backdrop for Becky’s reflective storytelling. There is a certain tenderness in the production, allowing the song to sit comfortably between heartbreak and hope.

The single arrives as part of the build-up to Becky’s debut full-length album, expected in August 2026. The forthcoming project is set to showcase more of her signature storytelling, rich harmonies, and emotional honesty, following the foundation laid by her 2025 project “Concrete Flower.”
