Luxembourg-based Nigerian singer-songwriter Hembadoon returns with her new single teaser, “YOLO,” released on Friday, December 12, 2025. The track serves as the lead introduction to her upcoming 10-track album project, TIME Na NOW, a body of work shaped by a five-year creative journey.

Built on the acronym “You Only Live Once,” “YOLO” is a vibrant fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano, designed as a motivational anthem encouraging listeners to take bold steps, believe in themselves, and stay focused on their personal goals. Through its uplifting rhythm and message-driven songwriting, the single reflects Hembadoon’s ongoing mission to inspire confidence and self-belief.

Singing in English while weaving in Nigerian Pidgin and Tiv—her native language from Benue State—Hembadoon brings a deeply personal and culturally rooted perspective to the record. The song draws directly from her own lived experiences, capturing themes of resilience, self-esteem, and the courage to start over despite setbacks.

“YOLO” introduces the wider narrative of TIME Na NOW, a 10-track project that documents Hembadoon’s journey of reclaiming her life, embracing change, and encouraging others to seize the moment. The album includes previously released singles such as the upbeat house record “Hey Lover” and cultural anthem “Kule Kule Hembaayem,” both of which highlight her versatility and genre-blending sound.

Beyond music, Hembadoon continues to expand her influence as a cultural ambassador in Luxembourg’s music scene. She hosts her weekly radio show “Nubian Lounge” on Radio ARA every Thursday at 10am, where she explores African music, culture, and storytelling. She also shares deeper conversations through her blog and Spotify podcast, further connecting with her growing audience.

Performing alongside her 7-piece live band, The Lady Force Band, Hembadoon has built a reputation for dynamic live performances across Luxembourg and beyond. She also serves on the board of directors at Radio ARA, reinforcing her commitment to cultural representation and community engagement.

With “YOLO,” Hembadoon sets the tone for a powerful new era—one rooted in self-expression, cultural pride, and the belief that the right time to act is always now.
